DIY Flower Crowns

*waves hello*.... hey y'all, so I have this thing where if i can make it then I won't buy it. So i tend to craft a few things in my spare time.               This time, it was flower crowns. I love 'em! I have tons of pictures of different variations of ones I wish I could rock but can't so I just admire the way they look on other people *covers face* But then I got an idea to make some myself that I could easily wear. So I went on the hunt for a hot glue gun, could not find one. Nearly gave up but then i decided to settle for contact glue instead (couldn't find fabric glue either) and so I set off to find more items. List included: •glue •artificial flowers •elastic headbands  •scissors •a nail polish brush  Once i had everything together, i separated the flowers from the stems and began to stick each one on the headband using the nail polish brush to apply the glue on both the surface of the flowers and the headband. One at a time until i ach

Frugal vs impulsive

"Money ain't a thing, money ain't a thing!" Oh how i wish that was my line and that it were true. Sadly no. I'm just a student on a really tight budget who's desperately trying to master the art of saving which by the way is not an easy feat with my impulsiveness and love for clothes, shoes, jewellery and hair products.

Could you please lay here with me

It's been a while since you've experienced a certain affection only someone of the opposite sex can give (or same sex for some). You're in need of a certain kind of attention. One that makes you feel special, wanted, one with enough power to brighten up your whole day at the utterance of a single word/name. You wish you could find a best friend through shared intimacy. One you are willing to break down your walls for, give your all to...

Hello!!

I've been scarce, yes. Busy? kinda sorta. School... *deep sigh* ...all so consuming but I have to deal with it because i'm over here tryna be a strong vivacious independent woman in the business world but right now being a housewife doesn't seem like a bad idea.  (I apologize to all the feminists because I know that sentence just took you back all the way to the beginning of time ) Aristotle helps me accept this coal plated piece of gold that is school with his words: "The roots of education are bitter but the fruit is sweet" I'm counting down the days so hard to the day i harvest this fruit. So... was thinking... "unspoken thoughts" sounds so deep and profound which is not all the way me. I have my moments though but like once or twice every blue moon. Might look into diversifying my content (maybe) and finding a name for the blog that doesn't inhibit that or just stick it out with this one *shrugs* Anyway I'm back now and hopefully I c

Poke-a-Hole-ntas

Sooo... everyone has something they get their high from or at least I think so. Except some people have very weird ones. Others are so grim it's scary.... Or maybe I'm just uber sensitive but mmm no. I'd much rather not know some of these things but *sigh* serves me right for watching all those odd and scary shows on t.v which honestly aren't that scary but i'm very paranoid and filled with fear that if i left my shoe on the floor and someone else puts it in my closet without me knowing I'd swear so hard some supernatural being put it there. Yea yea yea I know, silly! And an easy target for pranks.

Roommate Woes

*sigh*........... Uni/college roommates, housemates, even plain ol' neighbors or block-mates can be really annoying. A human, no matter how well you get along can be very hard to deal with when you have to see each other everyday, all the time. Let alone share a space with someone. You could say, "no he/she is my best friend, we get along just fine, it'll be a breeze" or "yea man, she's my girlfriend, how can moving in with her possibly be a bad thing?"

Sticks and Stones

"Sticks and stones may break my bones   But words will never harm me." An old nursery rhyme turned phrase that was meant to teach kids to not be bothered or hurt by the name-calling or teasing and taunting by fellow kids/bullies. And no, this is not a history lesson about nursery rhymes.

My 'Fro Fancy

Aaaahhhh look at that!! *googly eyes* .... Soooo I have a not so secret obsession with afros. Yes, I love all things natural hair and well, why wouldn't I? It's beautiful. From the earliest of times African women have worn it in various creative ways, woven, twisted and braided in styles that always seemed to make a statement very hard to miss  The Afro... timeless! love it, love it, loooove ittt!!!  The headwrap is something black women have wound around their hair since centuries ago. I like how it sits on our heads like a crown. It's a style that can be made to suit any occasion  But what I admire the most is how our mothers care(d) and groom(ed) for our hair. I feel like it is upto the parents to teach their daughters how to love their hair and care for it and make them know it's a very special and beautiful feature Wouldn't it have been something if we had had black barbies right from the beg
